For Angela, the decision to stop smoking came after recognising the impact it was having on her health. Illness had made her realise it was time to make a positive change and put her wellbeing first.
Although Angela had tried to quit smoking before, she had eventually started smoking again. This time, however, she approached her quit attempt with a completely different mindset, telling us: "I knew I could do it because I was motivated."
To help manage her cravings, Angela used a nicotine inhalator as part of her quit journey. Alongside the stop smoking aid, she says the support she received from her Smokefree Sheffield advisor, Sharon, made a huge difference.
"Sharon has been so helpful and always listened whenever I needed her."
Having someone to encourage her and offer support throughout the process gave Angela the confidence to stay on track and continue moving towards her goal of becoming smokefree.

Since quitting, Angela has noticed a number of positive changes. One of the first things she appreciated was no longer having the tell-tale signs of smoking, saying, "I don't have smelly, yellow fingers anymore, and my hair feels much healthier."
She has also started to notice improvements in her health. Everyday activities have become easier, and she no longer becomes out of breath as quickly as she once did.
Looking back on her journey, Angela is proud of what she has achieved. Her story shows that with determination, the right support and someone who believes in you, quitting smoking really is possible.
Today, Angela is enjoying the benefits of a smokefree life and is looking forward to a healthier future with the continued confidence that she has broken free from smoking for good.
