Action on Smoking and Health has strongly welcomed a new report on e-cigarettes, produced by independent experts for Public Health England. [1] The report updates the evidence on e-cigarette use among adults and young people; their effectiveness as an aid to quitting by smokers; the risks to health compared to smoking and public understanding of those risks. PHE goes on to urge smokers and public bodies to act on the evidence.

We’re into our third week of information about the harsh effects of smoking on your body. Each week, we’re exploring how different areas of your body change and are attacked by the chemicals and toxic poisons from cigarette smoke. The Smokefree Health Harms campaign is raising awareness of the effects of smoking through TV ads and information on their website.

Each week for 4 weeks we’ll cover different areas of the body and how smoking can have a dramatic impact on these parts. This week – the Heart and Lungs, and how quitting can reduce the risk of heart attack and lung cancer.
