Everyone has their own reason to want to stop smoking. For Paul, his children were the inspiration behind quitting his 28-year habit. He found that the support and encouragement he received from his local Smokefree clinic was the key to kickstarting his smoke free journey. Read Paul’s story below and feel inspired. Congratulations Paul!
I started smoking at the age of 21 and have been a smoker for over 28 years. I finally made the decision to quit smoking for my health, finances and, most importantly, the wellbeing of my children.
I accessed the one-to-one service through my local Smokefree clinic at Pindersfield Hospital and found that speaking to a professional along with the support I received face-to-face was really beneficial. I used the medication prescribed to help with cravings, and this combined with my personal determination helped in my success to quit and remain smoke free.
I knew that quitting smoking was the right thing to do and I’m so pleased I did – I now have more time and money to spend on my children! I was an idiot to ever start smoking and it has been difficult to quit but I am so happy I did.
