Inspire a Smokefree Generation - Breathe 2025

The Breathe 2025 campaign is simple: to see the next generation of children born and raised in a place free from tobacco, where smoking is unusual.

Inspiring a Smokefree Generation may not be easy, but we can do it. Breathe 2025 are calling on everyone: health professionals, organisations, families, communities, young people and all those concerned with the health and happiness of our children, to pledge an action, big or small, to become a part of this mission.

More than 7 million UK smokers started smoking before the age of 18. Half of all long-term smokers will be killed by their lethal addiction. 100,000 people die of a smoking-related illness every year in the UK.

Every day, in Yorkshire and the Humber alone, 51 children aged 11-15 years, take up smoking.

Enough is enough.

Download the campaign resources by visiting the Breathe 2025 website. There are excellent resources, such as colouring sheets to do with your children. Teaching our children about how dangerous smoking can be from a young age helps discourage them from smoking in the future.
