Flavia’s Stop Smoking Journey, Entry 5, Adjusting to new methods

The end of Stoptober is near and I am definitely hoping to continue with my smoke free journey and gradually decrease the amount of time I use on my E-cig!

In terms of ditching the cigs, I have found to be going ok, which is such a relief to me! I thought I would have more problems, but I am managing to stay away from fags with self control and the help from my smoke free advisor. I actually saw my husband smoking last week (tut-tut) and managed to stay strong. Yay me!

The e-cigarette, on the other hand, has been more of a problem. Last time I wrote, I was about to create a spreadsheet detailing my vaping habits, but that turned out to be troublesome. Mostly because it is hard to count how many puffs you get (some e-cigs provide that feature, as far as I know, but mine doesn’t). It was also difficult to monitor how many times I refill my tank, simply because we got a new coil and it burns the liquid faster than my previous one. In other words, it would not be an accurate way to measure the intensity of my vaping.

I have been succeeding in not vaping during the day, now I only do it before work and in the evenings.

To sort this problem out, I decided to pay attention to the times of the day in which I vape. Having done that, I will now try to cut down on it. I have been succeeding in not vaping during the day; now I only do it before work and in the evenings. I am resolved to abbreviate my vaping hours even more and just allow myself to vape after I get out of the train and after 8 pm. I haven’t started this new regime yet, but tomorrow is the day. Let’s see how it goes!
