Ann joined our 12 week quit programme and one week later her husband Steven decided to join her. They are now both 12 weeks smoke-free! Here's their story, told by their Wakefield stop smoking advisor, Marie.
Ann came to see us first. Ann wanted to stop smoking for health reasons as her breathing was bad and she suffers with a lot of pain with osteoporosis. She was advised by her consultant that smoking was not helping her. After a week Ann’s husband, Steven, decided to join us too.
Both decided to try the stop smoking medication, Varenicline. They both said the treatment has been brilliant they can’t believe how well they have done. Steven is a painter and decorator and would spend so much time on his breaks smoking and Ann loved a cigarette when she was away at her caravan!
Both said it was the face-to-face sessions and the weekly CO Readings which kept them motivated and the benefits were being able to breath better and taste their food! They have started going out more and enjoy regular dining out when going away for the weekends to their caravan in Hornsea.
With the money they have saved, which is a huge £200 a month, Steven has been preparing to get his garden ready for summer and Ann is treating herself to a new wardrobe!
