Congratulations to Sheila, who is now officially smoke-free after quitting tobacco with the Yorkshire Smokefree Wakefield team.
Sheila attended face to face sessions with our NHS advisors at Pontefract Health Centre and had been wanting to quit smoking for a while, but not convinced she could do it.
Sheila advised us that she has psoriasis and her breathing was really not good. After chatting through the service and treatments available Sheila started on 15mg patches and used her own vape. 12 weeks on and she is now using a 0% nicotine free vape with no patches at all!
Here's what Sheila had to say:
"I feel so much better and much more productive at work, and I hate the smell of cigarettes now! I had recent MOT with my GP, and it was a pleasure to advise him that I am now a non-smoker.
My psoriasis and immune system are much better, and I can now breath without getting out of breath. Without the support from Marie on my journey I would not have been able to quit!"
Well done Sheila. You've worked incredibly hard to become an ex-smoker and your determination and strength is an inspiration. Your Wakefield team are immensely proud of you!
