John’s wife Lynsey paid a visit to the
Yorkshire Smokefree mobile clinic bus at Pontefract Market and took leaflets home to show her husband. Feeling inspired, he came to chat with the advisors on the bus that very same afternoon on his way to his art class.
John had quit smoking before but gone back to it and when he boarded our mobile clinic he was smoking between 20 to 60 roll ups a day.
It was really important for John to stop smoking for a variety of reasons. He is currently recovering from cancer in his neck and lives an incredibly busy life, with painting classes, his grandchildren duties, hockey, and football.
John says would not have quit without our help and says our team of advisors encouraged him in a warm and welcoming way. He feels much healthier and says he looks healthier too. His wife Lynsey is really pleased for his health and her own health too and she did not like the smell of John when he smoked.
With the money he's saved on not buying tobacco John was able to buy a saw and materials for his art work. These are a couple of his paintings Sofia Loren and Pontefract Castle in Cromwell's days.
Huge congratulations John. From the first moment you boarded our mobile clinic you've been determined to quit smoking. Now you've achieved that goal we wish you all the best for the future.
