Terry had been smoking for 60 years, when a hospital Consultant told him he needed to quit immediately. Working with our team in Barnsley he's now proud to be an ex-smoker! He's recently written to his quit advisor in Barnsley with a thank you message and we'd like to share his words with you...
"Hi Sharon, I just want to send a big thank you to you and your team at Yorkshire Smokefree Barnsley. After 60 years of smoking to be told by a consultant to give up immediately was fairly daunting. Luckily I had seen the information in Barnsley hospital for your team.
One phone call and over the next 3 months I received constant support and valuable information. What was particularly helpful was being able to discuss and try the different methods available, for example patches, vapes, lozenges etc.
One of the suggestions was the nicotine mouth spray and for me that was the turning point. I now consider myself a non smoker and I don't think I would be saying that without the encouragement I received. So keep up the good work and thanks again."
