"My first cigarette was when I was 7 years old, but I started smoking properly when I was 16. I wanted to be like my dad. I’ve been smoking 39 years.

Before I quit in November 2024 I was smoking about 40 cigarettes a day. I quit for my health. I had a bad cough.

I had excellent support face to face from my stop smoking advisor in Calderdale, Shaun, and I used nicotine mini lozenges and a vape to help me quit.

My health has improved incredibly, and I have more money. Both things have helped me to stay smokefree.  I can walk now without getting tired and I have more money so I can afford better things. I’ve bought 2 TVs and a laptop with the money that I would have spent on cigarettes over the past year."

Nigel, you've done brilliantly. Congratulations on your quit!
